olives in the moroccon souks
Casablanca, morocco. April
Had a casablanca flight in april and a set of good crew. Casablanca in morocco is known to be a dangerous place to venture about as there are documented bomb blasts around the city.
According to previous crews, the souks ( market-place) were ok to visit as long as we go in a group. And t'was what we did! The moroccons speaks arabic-french and its really interesting that i can put my barely-there french words to good use while bargaining with the store vendors. It was hell of an experience. The boys are really good at it especially Ahmed, he helped all of us quite a bit with the arabic translation since non of us could speak french! a big part of the fun of buying things in those souks lies in the price negotiations and bargaining with the vendors. Most vendors enjoy the process immensely as well and would be happy to pour you a nice cup of mint moroccon tea while talking over the price of the items you will like to acquire.
The petite taxi we arrived in with ahmed and bindi
We arrive in a petite taxi ( picture above) , the light was perfect that day for photography, not to mention the loveliest weather and the great company to go with. We had a blast going about the exotic shops, ogling the gorgeous earthern wares, woven rugs, slippers, leather lamps, all things middle eastern on display. Just have a look at the pictures below! dont u wished u were there?
